Age of empires 3 population limit4/11/2023 ![]() When playing on a water map, civilizations normally start with a free Caravel, which are weak ships used mainly for scouting and fishing. They're better used for turtling, when you need an anti-siege unit. They're fast, and if you can somehow get them extremely early, they may be the only way an Ottoman player can successfully rush. ![]() The catch is that they cannot be created they must be sent from the Home City, and their numbers are limited. Spahi are melee-only cavalry units with insane attack damage and hitpoints. A small group of these guys, especially backed up by infantry proper, will make your colony anti-rush. Abus Guns are the unique units available to the Ottoman at that early stage, and despite looking like they're infantry, they're artillery with decent hitpoints. Just because the Ottoman can use artillery from Age 2 doesn't mean they can use all artillery. An army of Janissaries would obliterate an equally sized army of Musketeers controlled by anyone but the British. Janissaries are quite powerful, both in attack and defense. The basic infantry unit of the Ottoman replaces the Musketeer. However, this does mean the Ottoman are anti-rush unless you were a bit slow getting the buildings built. However, the units are still very expensive, and it's almost impossible to get a cohesive rush. The Ottoman can use gunpowder and artillery as early as Age 2. This must be researched as early as possible to keep the economy going as fast as possible. If you normally have 50, you'll have to settle on 45, or figure out how to use 70.Īlso, the Mosque contains upgrades to increase the speed of Settler spawning. This means you can't JUST have 50, or 60. You can only have 25 at first, and must upgrade the build limit through the Mosque (the Ottoman Church, it's just got a special name). Making it easier (or harder) is the fact that there is a low build limit on Settlers. This means you can't operate on your own pace you have to operate on the pace of the Settlers. If you don't keep up with your houses, then you won't be able to train any troops. With a constant spawn of Settlers, you are constantly filling up your population slots. First of all, let's just assume for the moment that that was the only detail to this (it's not). That's hundreds of food you'll save right off the bat. Once built, the Town Center will automatically start spawning Settlers for free. ![]() Their unique power concerning Settlers has some outlandish consequences, but I'll detail those in a second. They specialize in siege units and units with high hitpoints, but their units are expensive and sometimes a little slow to build. You could take a look at it and see how it works.Problem is, the Ottoman do some wacky things with the rule book, which is both an advantage and a hindrance. Not a trivial project.ĭeviance released a nice, fully-featured, trainer some years ago. You've gotta' basically determine the player's class ID and reverse engineer the whole darn thing to get anything done. Oh, yeah, the same routine updates gold/wood/food/etc. I believe that, unlike the previous games, the AI resources are stored in the same data structure that the player resources are stored in and you're not going to be able to search for simple values because the game is constantly iterating through the players - the numbers won't be strictly increasing, nor will they ever be stable (assuming at least one other human/ai team exists). In order to train this game, you're going to need a debugger with conditional breakpoints, a remote debugger or some other way to debug without having direct x lockups, familiarity with mapping out data structures, and a whole lot of patience. Your best bet is to edit the xml/config files.
